Brown University Development Coordinator in Providence, Rhode Island

Job Description:


The Development Coordinator supports the work of the Associate Dean and the Office of Biomedical Advancement by coordinating, directing and supervising administrative, and information technology tasks and functions as well as provides prospect management. Position is responsible for high-level correspondence, prospect research, technical and logistical support. Due to the confidential nature of interactions with donors, key faculty and their representatives, a high level of discretion and communication ability is required.


  • Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2 years of administrative and/or fundraising experience or equivalent combination of education/ experience.

  • Experience in a higher education, fundraising, or non-profit setting highly desirable

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle and complete multiple projects concurrently

  • Computer proficiency and Information Management Skills necessary to carry out the major responsibilities of this position, including Development database(s), word processing, spreadsheet applications, e-mail, calendars and search engines.

  • Must possess tact, discretion, sound judgment and initiative.

  • Strong project management/time management/ organizational and analytical skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, excellent written and verbal skills and creativity.
